MY AI USE POLICY

I believe in being transparent with clients about how I work. As AI tools become more prevalent in creative industries, I want to be clear with where I use AI - and where I don't.
WHAT I USE AI FOR
I use AI tools selectively and only in ways that enhance the quality of your project without replacing the craft. This includes: transcription and rough caption generation (always reviewed and corrected by me), research assistance for documentary projects, and administrative tasks like scheduling and invoicing. These uses save time on non-creative work so I can focus more attention on the edit itself.
WHAT I DON'T USE AI FOR
The edit is mine. I do not use AI to make creative decisions, generate footage, create synthetic voices or likenesses, or produce any deliverable that would be presented as human-crafted work without disclosure. Every cut, colour grade, sound mix decision, and pacing choice is made by me, informed by 10 years of experience and a genuine understanding of your project's goals.
CLIENT DISCLOSURE
If I ever use an AI tool in a way that materially affects a deliverable — beyond the administrative and transcription uses listed above — I will disclose it to you before delivery. You will always know what you're getting. If you have specific requirements around AI use for your project, tell me upfront and I will accommodate them.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Video editing is a craft built on judgment, taste, and storytelling instinct. Those things take years to develop and can't be automated. I'm proud of the work I produce and I want clients to trust that what they receive reflects genuine skill and care — not a shortcut. This policy exists because I think that trust is worth protecting.
